7th March 2012
An excellent evening, as always. In the singles Geoff Howes had a great game against Nick Charteris-Black; at 2 all and 0-7 down he did a Houdini and took it 9-7! Good stuff.
Keith Jones and Stephen Jackson both had good games against Kim Graham and James Dearman. Andy Craig worked hard but I think needs a bit more practice with Geoff Gill at the Camberley Club.
Lance Kinder and John Woodliffe usually play doubles, but John had a gammy leg and Lance had a senior moment. He went to Dorking instead of Roehampton, drank two cups of coffee which he got Don Ayton to pay for and at about 8p.m. began to wonder why no VC players were turning up!
Steve Johnson and Andy Craig filled the gap and enjoyed their game.
